UnitedLayer is a privately held company with facilities in San Francisco and Los Angeles. Founded in 2001, UnitedLayer started as a regional colocation provider in San Francisco. In 2005, UnitedLayer leased its first of several colocation facilities in San Francisco's premier carrier hotel, 200 Paul Ave. In 2006, UnitedLayer merged with ASPextra, a San Francisco–based provider of managed servers and managed services. In 2006, UnitedLayer also acquired colocation facilities in Los Angeles.
