UnitedLayer Opens Cutting Edge Datacenter in Los Angeles

SAN FRANCISCO, CA- August 15, 2007 – UnitedLayer expands into a 3,000 square foot datacenter in Los Angeles adding to their growing list of strategically placed datacenters located throughout North America.

UnitedLayer, founded in 2001, is a North American internet enabler offering a suite of internet infrastructure services including managed bandwidth, colocation and infrastructure services. Choosing to entrust your technology to an outside vendor is not an overnight decision. UnitedLayer is unique in that they have established a team of recognized industry experts with the rare mix of technical and business acumen to enable customers and partners to realize their internet business goals.

According to Richard Donaldson, UnitedLayer`s VP of Sales, Marketing and Development, “Our expansion in our 530 West 6th facility is part of our ongoing commitment to providing expanded service options to our customers. Given the demand for datacenter space, we are excited to have this facility operational and open for business.”

UnitedLayer knows that power delivery and environmental controls are crucial to the success of their datacenters. During the recent power event in San Francisco UnitedLayers’ customers did not experience any downtime. UnitedLayer has partnered with DPAir Corporation, the leading provider of datacenter design, build and maintenance in the west to provide state-of-the art HVAC, cooling tower and uninterruptible power supply (UPS) equipment for the new datacenter. DPAir recently installed two 20-ton HVAC units and modified ductwork to optimize airflow. DPAir also provided consultation on the installation of the center’s new UPS and maintenance bypass equipment to ensure the facility’s round-the-clock operation.

“UnitedLayer’s focus on proven cooling and heat rejection technologies places their new facility in Los Angeles on the cutting-edge of data centers today,” said Mark Taylor, California regional manager for DPAir. “The company’s attention to the infrastructure’s detail will ensure its clients benefit from the most up-to-date data center equipment protecting its servers today and in the future.”
